Road Traffic Simulation

Use of the embedded Road feature of vsTASKER to simulate a road network populated with thousands of cars.

Road Network is graphically designed inside vsTASKER using lane segments and junctions. Each segments can be described in terms of width, number of lanes, ways and allowed speeds. Each junction is defined as controlled by lights, stops or priority. User component can be assigned to any segment and intersection.

Each car is given a start and destination points on the graph network and the best

path is automatically calculated. Then, the car start following the road, following the traffic and behave at each junction.

Simulation can be run in real-time or fast-time for analysis. What user can do:

  • Traffic Jam assessment
  • Traffic Light optimization
  • Impact of road blocking
  • Road following for convoy
  • Traffic for driving simulator
